How to make Twitch clips vertical

A Twitch clip is 16:9 and a TikTok, Short or Reel is 9:16, so the clip has to be reframed for a phone. Hypecut does it for every clip: it finds your facecam and the action, stacks them in one vertical frame and writes the hook on screen. You can change the framing in its editor.

The three ways to frame a clip

  • Stacked: your facecam in a box above the gameplay. Best when your reaction is half the moment.
  • Crop: one part of the frame, filling the screen. Best for gameplay without a facecam.
  • Fit: the whole 16:9 frame over a blurred or black background. Best when everything on screen matters.

Change the framing in Hypecut

  1. Open a video on Clips and choose Edit.
  2. Choose Crop, then pick Stacked, Crop or Fit. Drag the picture to move the crop, and resize the facecam box.
  3. Trim, split, change the speed (0.5× to 2×) or the volume if you want, then Save. Re-cuts are free.

Doing it by hand

  1. Download the clip from Twitch.
  2. In an editor such as CapCut, start a 9:16 project and add the clip twice.
  3. Crop one copy to your facecam and place it at the top; crop the other to the gameplay below it.
  4. Add a title on screen and captions, then export at 1080 × 1920.

Questions

Does Hypecut find my facecam by itself?

Yes. It picks the cut, the layout and where your facecam is for each clip, and you can move or resize the facecam box in the editor.

Does it work with Kick or YouTube streams?

Not yet. Hypecut clips Twitch streams today, and Kick and YouTube are on the way.
