1. The short version
- You sign up with an email address and password. We don’t ask for your name, phone number or payment details.
- If you join the waitlist, we keep only your email address and, if you give it, your Twitch channel name, to tell you when you can sign up.
- For the Twitch channels you add (your own, or ones you’re authorized to manage), Hypecut reads the public chat, creates Twitch clips of the moments chat reacts to, and makes vertical videos from them. We keep a short sample of chat messages from each moment, not the whole chat.
- Frames from each clip and the chat sample are sent to Anthropic’s Claude AI to pick the cut and write the hook and caption. Anthropic doesn’t use this data to train its models.
- If you connect TikTok, we store your TikTok display name, avatar and access tokens, and we upload a video to your TikTok inbox as a draft only when you click “Send to TikTok drafts” on a video you approved. The AI finding a moment never sends it anywhere by itself, and we never publish anything on TikTok for you: you finish and publish each video in the TikTok app.
- With Learn from my TikTok on, we read the captions, cover images and view, like, comment and share counts of your posted TikTok videos and have Claude summarize how you write hooks and captions. We keep only that summary, and you can switch it off (which deletes it) in Settings.
- No ads, no analytics or tracking, and we never sell your information.
- You can disconnect TikTok or delete your account, with everything in it, at any time from Settings in the dashboard.
2. Who we are
Hypecut is provided by VinciX LLC, a limited liability company organized in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States (“VinciX”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at info@vincixai.com.
3. What we collect
The waitlist
While Hypecut is invite-only, you can join a waitlist with your email address and, optionally, the name of the Twitch channel you stream on. We use them only to tell you when you can create an account.
Your account
Your email address and password. The password is stored only as a salted one-way hash by our authentication provider, so we can’t see it. We also keep a random account ID that links your data to you, and your choices for new videos: whether they carry on-screen text and in which style, how they’re framed (portrait or landscape), whether Hypecut learns from your TikTok, how many days clips wait for your review, and which notifications you want.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications in a browser or the home-screen app, we store that browser’s push subscription: the address its push service gave it, and the keys used to encrypt what we send there. We use it only to tell you that one of your channels went live or that a new clip is ready. Signing out or turning notifications off on that device deletes it. See section 9 for the push services.
Channels you add
The Twitch channel name, the link to its public Twitch profile picture, your settings for it (sensitivity, paused or active, automatic clipping and sending), and statistics we work out from its chat, such as its usual pace, the current hype level and the last 10 minutes of hype. While the channel is live we also keep what Twitch reports about the stream: its title, category and viewer count. Stream details and the hype history are cleared when the stream ends.
Moments, clips and videos
For each moment Hypecut detects, we store:
- when it happened, how far above normal chat went, and chat’s messages per second around it;
- the reactions chat spammed most, with counts (for example “KEKW ×84”);
- a sample of up to 40 chat messages, each with the chatter’s Twitch username (see section 4);
- the Twitch clip’s ID, link and thumbnail;
- the vertical video files we render, the cut and layout used (including where the streamer’s webcam sits in the frame, so you can switch between portrait and landscape), and the on-screen hook (its style, position and how long it shows), caption and hashtags, whether written by the AI or by you, plus other hooks the AI suggested and whether it wrote in the style learned from your TikTok;
- whether you approved or rejected it (or it expired unreviewed), when, and the status of any TikTok upload.
Your TikTok connection
If you connect TikTok: your TikTok open ID (an identifier TikTok issues to Hypecut for your account), display name and avatar URL, the access and refresh tokens TikTok gives us, the permissions you granted, and when the tokens expire. With Learn from my TikTok on, also a short summary of how you write hooks and captions, with a few of your own hooks, captions and hashtags as examples, and how many videos it was learned from. See section 6.
Collected automatically
- Cookies. We use only the cookies needed to run the site: sign-in session cookies, and a short-lived security cookie (it expires after 10 minutes) that protects the TikTok connection step. We use no analytics or advertising cookies.
- Your browser. Your theme choice (dark, light or system), whether the live view shows Twitch chat, and whether you turned notifications on in that browser are saved in its local storage, not sent to us.
- Twitch and font embeds. The dashboard shows live streams, chat and clips with Twitch’s own embedded player and chat, and stream thumbnails and channel profile pictures from Twitch’s image servers. Our pages also load the typeface from Fontshare. Your browser contacts those services directly, so they receive your IP address and browser details, and Twitch may set its own cookies under its privacy notice.
- Service logs. Our hosting providers keep standard security and operational logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and timestamps. Our own servers log technical events such as errors and job status.
4. Twitch chat and stream content
Hypecut works with information about people other than you: the viewers who chat in your channel, and anyone who appears in your stream.
- Finding moments. Hypecut looks at how fast chat is moving, how many chatters post reaction emotes or ask for a clip, and how that compares with the channel’s own usual pace, which it learns from the channel’s chat, so it adapts to each community. It measures chat as a whole: a moment is a spike in activity, not a judgement about any chatter.
- Chat. While a channel is active in Hypecut, our servers read its public Twitch chat. Most messages are only counted, in memory, to measure chat’s pace and are never stored. When a moment is detected, we keep the reaction counts and a sample of up to 40 messages (each cut to 300 characters) with the chatters’ usernames, so you can see what chat said. Chatters who want their messages removed can email info@vincixai.com.
- Live view. The dashboard shows your channels that are live through Twitch’s own embedded player and chat, loaded from Twitch in your browser. Hypecut doesn’t record the stream to show it.
- Stream video and audio. We create a clip of each moment through Twitch’s API, download it, and edit it into a vertical video. These videos are stored privately and are visible only to your account.
5. AI processing (Anthropic)
Hypecut uses Anthropic, PBC’s Claude AI models. When a clip is ready, our server sends Anthropic:
- still frames sampled from the clip;
- per-second audio loudness and chat activity; and
- the moment’s chat sample (with usernames) and top reactions.
Claude uses these to choose where to cut, how to frame the video, and what the hook, caption and hashtags say. When you click “Rewrite description” or ask for more hook ideas on a moment, the chat sample, reactions, Claude’s earlier one-line description of the clip and the current hook are sent again (but no frames). Comparing your voice in Settings sends the same for your latest clip, twice. We don’t send your email address or account ID.
If Learn from my TikTok is on, we also send Anthropic details of up to 60 of your most recent TikTok videos (caption, title, posting date, length, and view, like, comment and share counts) and the cover images of up to 12 of them. This happens when you connect TikTok or click “Study again”, and about once a week while Hypecut is making videos for you. Claude returns a summary of how you write hooks and captions, which is then sent along whenever Claude writes post copy for you.
Anthropic processes this data for us as a service provider under its commercial terms. Under those terms it doesn’t use it to train its models and keeps API inputs and outputs only for a limited period, except where it must keep them longer by law or to enforce its usage policies. See Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.
6. TikTok
Connecting TikTok is optional. When you click “Connect TikTok”, TikTok asks you to allow three permissions:
- user.info.basic: your open ID, display name and avatar, so the dashboard can show which account is connected. TikTok’s avatar links expire after about two days, so we read the name and avatar again before then.
- video.upload: lets Hypecut upload videos to your TikTok inbox as drafts.
- video.list: lets Hypecut read your public videos’ details (caption, cover image, and view, like, comment and share counts), to learn how you write hooks and captions.
Sending a video to TikTok always follows the same steps, and you take each one:
- Each new video appears in your dashboard. You watch it, change its on-screen text, framing, caption and hashtags if you like, and approve or reject it.
- On a video you approved, you click “Send to TikTok drafts”. We upload that one video to your TikTok inbox through TikTok’s Content Posting API.
- In the TikTok app, you finish the post (its caption, who can see it and TikTok’s other settings) and publish it, or delete the draft.
How we use the permissions:
- We upload a video only at step 2, one video for each click. Hypecut follows TikTok’s upload limits, such as its cap on drafts waiting in your inbox within 24 hours and its rate limits: when TikTok refuses an upload for one of them, we show you why and don’t retry it on our own. Hypecut never publishes, deletes or changes anything on your TikTok account.
- We only upload videos Hypecut made from the streams of the channels you added. We never download, scrape or repost other people’s videos, on TikTok or anywhere else.
- We read your posted videos only while Learn from my TikTok is on (it’s on by default; switch it off in Settings), only to learn how you write, as described in section 5. We keep the resulting summary, not the list of videos, their stats or cover images.
- We don’t access your followers, messages or account analytics, or download your videos, and we don’t use TikTok data for advertising or share it with anyone other than the providers in section 9.
- Your tokens are stored on our servers and are readable only by them, never by the browser. We use them only to upload the videos you send, to read your videos’ details for the style summary, to keep your display name and avatar up to date, and to refresh the connection.
- Click Disconnect in the dashboard’s Settings to delete the tokens from our database immediately. You can also remove Hypecut’s access in the TikTok app’s settings, under the apps and services you have given permission to.
7. What we don’t do
- We don’t show ads or use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. (Twitch’s embedded player and chat follow Twitch’s own policies; see section 3.)
- We don’t sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don’t send anything to TikTok unless you click send, and we never publish for you. The AI finding a moment never sends it anywhere by itself.
- We don’t scrape, download or redistribute other people’s videos. Hypecut only makes videos from the channels you add.
- We don’t use your videos, chat or other content to train AI models, and neither does Anthropic.
- We don’t send marketing emails.
8. How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- detect moments, create clips, render vertical videos and write post copy;
- learn how you write hooks and captions from your TikTok, when you allow it;
- show your moments in the dashboard and send the videos you choose to TikTok;
- notify you when your channels go live and when new clips are ready, if you turn that on;
- create and secure your account, including sending account emails such as sign-up confirmation;
- tell people on the waitlist when they can sign up;
- answer your support requests;
- keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
9. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the providers that help us run Hypecut, only as needed to provide the service:
- Supabase, Inc. runs our database, authentication, video storage and account emails. Data is stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States (US West, Oregon).
- Resend, Inc. delivers our account emails, such as sign-up confirmation, so it receives your email address and the email’s contents.
- Vercel, Inc. hosts this website and dashboard.
- Railway Corporation hosts the background worker that reads chat, creates clips, renders videos and uploads to TikTok.
- Anthropic, PBC provides the AI processing described in section 5.
- Twitch Interactive, Inc. We check which channels are live, look up their profile pictures and create clips through Twitch’s API. When you add a channel, what you type in the search is sent to Twitch’s API to find matching channels; we don’t store it. Twitch clips are hosted by Twitch and are publicly viewable on Twitch. The dashboard embeds Twitch’s player, chat, thumbnails and profile pictures (see section 3).
- Fontshare (Indian Type Foundry) serves the typeface our pages use.
- TikTok receives the videos you send to your drafts, through its Content Posting API, and gives us your posted videos’ details through its Display API when Learn from my TikTok is on.
- Push services. If you turn on notifications, we send each one through the push service your browser uses: Apple (Safari and the iPhone home-screen app), Google (Chrome and most Android browsers), Mozilla (Firefox) or Microsoft (Edge on Windows). Notifications are encrypted for your device, so the push service delivers them without being able to read them.
We may also disclose information:
- if required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or VinciX;
- as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information; or
- with your consent or at your direction.
10. Retention and deletion
- The waitlist keeps your email address (and Twitch channel, if you gave one) until you create an account, which removes it automatically, or until you email info@vincixai.com to be removed.
- While you have an account, we keep your channels and moments, and the videos you approve. A clip you don’t approve or reject in time (7 days, or what you pick in Settings: 3 to 30 days) expires, and its video is deleted; a rejected clip’s video is deleted 2 days after you reject it. The moment’s details and the link to its Twitch clip stay. When you change a video’s text or framing, the version it replaces is deleted. Email info@vincixai.com if you want specific moments or videos deleted sooner.
- Disconnecting TikTok deletes your TikTok tokens, profile details and what Hypecut learned from your videos from our database right away. Turning off Learn from my TikTok deletes what was learned, also right away.
- Deleting your account (Dashboard → Settings → Delete account) permanently deletes your account, channels, moments, every video Hypecut made for you, your TikTok connection and your notification subscriptions.
- Deleting your account doesn’t remove Twitch clips, which live on Twitch (as the broadcaster you can delete clips of your channel in Twitch’s Clips Manager), or videos already sent to your TikTok drafts, which live in TikTok.
- Copies may remain in our providers’ backups for a limited period before they’re overwritten, and service logs are kept for a limited period for security.
11. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), database row-level security so each account can reach only its own data, private video storage with short-lived links, hashed passwords, and server-only storage of TikTok tokens and our service keys. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict some processing, or withdraw consent; and
- not be discriminated against for using these rights.
You can edit your post copy, disconnect TikTok and delete your account in the dashboard. For anything else, email info@vincixai.com. We may verify a request by confirming it comes from the email address on your account, and we respond within the time the law requires (generally 30 days, or 45 days where that applies).
13. Regional disclosures
United States (including California and Virginia)
In the last 12 months we have collected identifiers (email address, account ID, TikTok open ID, IP address in logs), customer records and user content (channels, moments, videos, post copy, the summary of your TikTok writing style), and internet activity (service logs). We collect them from you, from Twitch and from TikTok for the purposes in section 8, and disclose them only to the providers in section 9. We don’t sell or share personal information as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines those terms.
Virginia residents have the rights in section 12 under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the subject “Appeal”. We’ll respond within 60 days, and if you’re not satisfied you can contact the Virginia Attorney General.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
We rely on performance of a contract to provide the service you signed up for (including the AI processing and TikTok uploads it depends on), on legitimate interests to process chatters’ public messages, keep the service secure and prevent abuse, on consent for connecting TikTok, and on legal obligation where the law requires. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
14. International transfers
We and our providers are based in the United States. If you use Hypecut from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses in our providers’ data processing terms.
15. Children
Hypecut is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 to use it (or older where local law requires). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@vincixai.com and we’ll delete it.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we add features. We’ll change the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we’ll tell you in the dashboard or by email before they take effect.
