How to post Twitch clips to YouTube Shorts

Hypecut turns the moments your Twitch chat reacts to into vertical videos and posts the ones you approve to YouTube Shorts, with a title and description it wrote. Every video is 9:16 and at most 90 seconds, so YouTube treats it as a Short.

Use it in your browser or on iPhone. 20 free videos, no card. Plans from $19.99 a month.

Set up Hypecut

  1. Sign up at hypecut.stream, or in Hypecut’s iPhone app from the App Store.
  2. Connect your Twitch account. Hypecut makes clips with your own account, so clips need to be allowed on your channel.
  3. Add your channel. There’s nothing to install on your PC and nothing to add to OBS.
  4. Go live. Hypecut starts listening to your chat as soon as you do.

Post a clip to Shorts

  1. Connect YouTube once in Settings → Connections, and pick whether new posts are public, unlisted or private.
  2. Open a video in To review and approve it.
  3. Choose Post, then YouTube Shorts. Hypecut uploads it to your channel with the text you saw in the post sheet.

Doing it by hand

By hand, you download the clip, reframe it to 9:16 in an editor, add a title on screen, export it and upload it in YouTube Studio or the YouTube app, then write the title and description. It works, but it’s often 10 to 20 minutes for every clip.

Tips for Shorts from streams

  • Keep it short. The best stream Shorts are one moment with its build-up, not a montage.
  • Post the same video to TikTok and Reels too. Hypecut sends one approved video anywhere you’ve connected.
  • Use the stream’s highlight for a longer recap of the night’s best clips.

Questions

Does Hypecut post for me?

Only the videos you approve, unless you turn on auto-post for a channel. Every video waits in To review, and you pick where each one goes.

Does it work with Kick or YouTube streams?

Not yet. Hypecut clips Twitch streams today, and Kick and YouTube are on the way.
